A combination of good references, tutorials, experimentation, and good old fashioned practice.
I actually consider myself a really bad artist as I don't quite have a method for drawing at all. I just slop it out and sketch, erase, Ctrl+Z, rotate it, invert it, and fiddle with it until it works. It's like rolling around haphazardly in a puddle of mud while trying to create a clay pot. I'm quite anal about things too, which causes me to stick on things for far too long and get super frustrated if I can't get them to form smoothly. I also have a really bad habit of getting ambitious about projects and loading on more work than I can actually complete. =/
I wish I were tons better. I have a bit to go before I'll be really close to satisfied with my skills.
You don't need to, you draw very good. Srsly.
I can't actualy draw T_T my arms grows from my ass, so...
Idk anything about your skills, methods (except you just told), etc. But, your arts are EPIC. That's enough. Hope to see your works at world's famous gallery one day.
